Our History


A Legacy of Excellence, Customer Service and Innovation       

Since 1945, Isaac Heating and Air Conditioning has worked diligently, grown and evolved to meet the changing heating and air conditioning needs of homeowners and businesses in Upstate and Central New York.

Here's a brief overview of our history and how we arrived at today's Isaac, a family business dedicated to their mantra, "When you need us, we'll be there"!
  • In 1945, George T. Isaac and wife Phyllis founded "George T. Isaac Heating & Sheet Metal."
  • Operations began from a family garage in Irondequoit - business grows thanks to the post-war building boom as the firm establishes solid relationships with area home builders.
  • By 1949, Isaac employs six and moves to a larger headquarters on Hudson Avenue.
  • In the 1950's, four Isaac sons join the firm
  • In the 1960's, residential air conditioning is introduced and creates a new revenue stream and a second season of work.
  • 1963 - Isaac incorporates and becomes "Isaac Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc."
  • 1967 brings a new 4,000-square foot facility on Hudson Avenue with a total of 10 employees.
  • By 1979, the company renovates a 16,000-square foot headquarters at 180 Charlotte Street and moves in to house 40 employees.
  • The 80's see continued expansion with the workforce growing to approximately 50.
  • In the 90's, Isaac opens the Avon office to serve counties South of Rochester and the Finger Lakes regions while the employee count grows to 80.
  • The Syracuse office opens in 2006 to serve Central New York.
  • 1995-2008 - Isaac doubles in sales.
  • By 2008, Isaac has over 160 full-time employees.
  • 2010, Isaac aquires Owens Heating & Plumbing in Big Flats, NY, increasing our service area to Livingston County.
  • Isaac Today - Leading the Way at All Levels.
  • 2011, Isaac opens an office in Canandaigua, NY and now has over 200 employees.                        
Today, Isaac is recognized as the area's leading HVACR firm in terms of customer education, staff training and experience, seal of security protection plans, comprehensive estimates, number of referrals and years in business.
